The export value of crackers, chips, and peanut brittle from Indonesia reached US$56.33 million throughout 2021. This figure jumped to 59.3% compared to the previous year of US$35.37 million.
Crackers are a type of snack or side dish that characterizes Indonesia. Almost every region in Indonesia has crackers and it becomes a superior product to enter the export market. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the export value of crackers, chips, and peanut brittle from Indonesia reached US$56.33 million throughout 2021. This figure jumped to 59.3% compared to the previous year of US$35.37 million. Meanwhile, the export volume of crackers will be 22.16 million kilograms (kg) in 2021. The number also increased by 54.01% compared to the previous year which was 14.39 million kg. Based on the destination, the most exports of crackers from Indonesia to Thailand were US$13.3 million with a volume of 4.5 million kg.
Indonesian crackers were also exported to the Netherlands worth US$11.41 million with a volume of 3.98 million kg. Then, Indonesia’s cracker exports to South Korea were worth US$10.52 million with a volume of 4.33 million kg. The export value of crackers from within the country to China was US$ 6.19 million with a volume of 1.24 million kg. Indonesian cracker exports to the UK were valued at US$4.1 million with a volume of 1.4 million kg. Indonesia also exported crackers to Malaysia worth US$1.88 million with a volume of 3.71 million kg. The export value of crackers from Indonesia to Taiwan is US$1.8 million with a volume of 491.4 thousand kg. Meanwhile, exports of these products to the United States were valued at US$1.68 million with a volume of 294.8 thousand kg.
